Hi, Nellie.  The doll didn't have to be in your portfolio, she only had to be posted to this thread.  If you didn't post her here, then I'm sorry, but in fairness to everyone who made the deadline, you're too late.  :(

Loretta

Ok, cool!  We're going to be organizing another thread with the participants to set up posting the images and judging for the challenge soon.  I'll be in touch!

I will be setting up a thread for posting the dolls and voting.  I finished my doll for auction but she was not like this Sept 30.  I ran out of time so I had to submit her "as is" and she will be entered in the voting that way.  I just wanted to share the final product.  :)  She's listed on eBay now.  http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=250171905276&Category=84626&_trksid=p3907.m29

Hugs!

Hello Loretta, my Beautiful Muse, well I am back to creating Frida again, now I must create her in a male form, same head, just a male body, I don't know if I told you that, but I would really like to be in this doll challenge with Grimms Fairy Tales, I loved those story's when I was a kidd....September 30th is the deadline right, if there is still time, count me in....can't wait, hope I have the time between this and etsy.....by the way, your Dolls are absolutely beautiful, Cinderella is definately enchanting...tooodles...Vikki

Vikki,

The Grimm's Fairytale Doll challenge was from last year. Sorry!

Perhaps you're interested in starting a new challenge?

ooops, what a duffus, it would help if I would look at the dates, yes Gillie, how about a Halloween Ghostly Challenge, like a Witch, or a Grimm Reaper, I noticed in Etsy that alot of Artisians are getting ready for Halloween, let's start that, with the due date October 30th, what do you think?,,,Vikki

How about this: a halloween doll art challenge, with entries due by October 18th, voted upon here on the forums through October 25th, and the top seven winners will be included in Art of the Day for the week of Halloween In the event that more than one is in the top seven, we'll just use the highest voted piece for that artist. And in the event of ties that result in more than seven winners, EBSQ staff will make the final call in which pieces are used as AOTD.

Good? Any other ideas or suggestions?

That sounds Great, the only other Doll challenge I would have would be anyones version of World Santa dolls, I think with all the different cultures and believes the Santa Claus so to speak, can be created with all kinds of medium, paper mache', fabric, china, clay, ie;.., other than that, I am looking forward to this one, when do you make the announcement?...Vikki

Hi, Vikki!  Sorry I wasn't subscribed to this thread anymore.  I probably should have locked it since it was old to keep folks from getting confused.  Looks like you've started something!  hehe  Looks like we'll have a Halloween Challenge!  Hope you're up for it and thinking of a project!

Hugs
Loretta

I think a Christmas theme or a Santa theme would be very cool too!  We'll see what Amie thinks.

No, no, I'm not going away.  I am hosting a retreat in Indiana in October and there is room if you'd like to come.  I posted some info about it on another thread a few min ago and I'll post it in the doll and sculpture forum here in a minute.

Ohhh, I would sooo Love to come, but I am still a starving artist, and SSDI does not pay the bills and Hubby is working his A.. off ....so, someday, someday, but with any luck, I will not be quite the starving artist next year, right now, I am making enough money for supplys, gas, and helping with the grocery's, today I made $20.00 but Friday I will make $130.00, so you know how it goes, us Artisians get paid by the piece and not the hour, if I can get my husband to see that...but only we know that, so you live in Indiana, right?
