Yep.  At one time she lived right in Sebastopol, but moved to a place closer to where she keeps her horse.

I am from Sebastopol, CA. and absolutely love it there. Presently, I am spending time in Ohio for my 83 yr. old mother in asst. living. I have been extremely home sick, as all 3 of my children remain in California. Sebastopol was a WONDERFUL community to raise children and become active in the community through all walks of life to include art, music, antiques, culture all with wide diversifications in freedom of expressions. The flavor of Sebastopol is dynamic downtown with it's many little quaint retail shops, restaurants & coffee clutches. The town also strives to be environmentally friendly and prides itself in organic local produce.
We lived out in the country in the northern sector of unincorporated Sebastopol on 4 acres. Over the years, we enjoyed the vast wildlife that lived or visited our property from deer, redtail hawks, wild turkeys, on and on.
Although that Sebastopol has excellent schools, I was fortunate enough to be able to home school my children through their high school years. This opportunity allowed them to expand their horizons in all Northern California has to offer in education whether in school or home. They were able to graduate early at 16 and move onto the local Santa Rosa JC to further expand their educational abilities and goals. Sebastopol is home to many wonderful artists, poets and writers. The town atmosphere coupled with nature's beauty can not help but be a artistic inspiration. I give you 2 thumbs up on deciding to move there!
Good luck and God Speed to you, for the year ahead,
CaliGirl

How nice of you to provide so much information. I am looking at properties in realtor.com all the time to see what is newly listed. Of all the communities in the area it was by far our favorite,,,not at all pretentious and we liked the little downtown area alot.

We were waiting for our table for dinner and sat at the bar,,,a man started up a conversation with us and started saying if he could move anywhere to retire it would be to sebastopol. It really shocked roy and I because we are in Indiana,,,of all the places this man could have said,,,it is like destiny for us.

It is a sweet little place

In search of that sculptor's name and info I also found this amazing artist who lives in Santa Rosa, next door neighbor town to Sebastopol. This other artist's name is Monty Monty and his work reminds me of the kind of things are own sculptor artist John Sebarro does (I hope I spelled your name right John)

Here is a link it his monty monty http://www.montymontyart.com/index3.html

It is florence ave. He has some new ones out since I took these photos. You can see them all over the town. There is one at a cow feed lot (of a cow) on the highway leading out and one at an animal shelter or vet - a ginormous dog.

Feel free to post any pics you take of ones I did not photograph
