K here's what's been going on around here.

I decided to mess around today and actually try to color some items in photoshop 7.

OH MY GOSH!!! why didn't I do this earlier and I haven't hooked up my wacom tablet either, this had been with my mouse....

check it out!

This is all work done with the spray tool and locked layers. Fun Stuff : )
Maybe an hour into it because I was just playing around to see what would happen if I did this and that etc.

off to play some more

I took a few breaks and even had a background. I think this is what's going to be my problem! What kind of background to make????

But this is what I have finished for the day.

This is great.  I am really impressed at how well your handling the brushes and just using a mouse!  Wow.......I have to admit that I am poor with the brushes....so in that vein, where is the Spray Tool???  It looks awfully handy!

I'm posting a quick reply because I'm on break inbetween classes. hehe : )

on the screen shot above, the spray tool is the the icon button above her head. I remembered from reading tutorials online that I could put down a base color and lock the layer. So I put down the base color, locked the layer, and with darker and lighter shades adjusted the spray level which is located on the left hand side of the spray tool.
it was on the toolbar after I picked drop shadow brushes as my brush setting. (I really don't know if it's a toolbar default???? like I said I have no idea really what I am doing...I was just playing around and I think I really do love the spray tool : ) !!!!

I'll probably move this over to the digital forum because I know I'm going to need help on the background : )

lol that's a good question.

I can get  a painting done in a few hours or a couple of days. ( I think speed wise once I throw in the background, painting traditionally will probably win)

I have to say I absolutely love the blending and colors of the face, eyes, and skin. The wings are growing on me...but I'm not "in love" with them. Maybe it will look better when I go back to the layers and erase the rest of the overcolored areas that are showing.

I'm still going to do the traditional painting and play around with the digital cause I'm not totally sold on all of this.

(I spent maybe two hours total going back and forth with the hair and face blending which would have taken me about the same with the way I paint. I spent maybe another two hours with the wings and outfit. )
