More than once I've slipped while posting in a public thread and said something not appropriate...not necessarily off color, (although I've done that too)but more in keeping with our inside jokes, etc in the private forums...anyway....I don't have a clue which ones I'm in because I just go to "posts since I've last signed on" and I never think about seeing which ones are public and which are private

Is there a way to make it evident in every post that it's a public thread? Like a particular colored typeface or something that automatically makes you aware of where you are? That would be really helpful....

Not possible with this software, sorry.

We do have every public section named with (public) as part of the section head, which is the best we're able to do with this software.

Best way to avoid a mistep? Treat every thread like a public thread.

Amie, would you transfer any post in which you find we made mistakes, - may happen -  onto a non-public thread ?

We can only move entire threads, not individual responses to a thread, so likely, no, we can't do what you're asking unless the entire thread is posted in the wrong place.
