I'm excited for this show. I'm not sure I'm capable of making something pink, but I'm thinking on it and even if I can't I want to contribute somehow.

I have a clarification question.

Does the Chip In $$$ to this show go to the Members Choice winner or to the Susan G Komen foundation?

Sorry if I'm being dense. :(

Sorry this wasn't more clear: the chipin money goes to the winner of the show. Susan G Komen donations are made directly on their site: http://www.info-komen.org/goto/ebsq And only members who donate to SGK are eligible to win prize money. We're hoping to raise 1500 for SGK and 500 in prize money for our members. Any help would be appreciated! Please get the word out and give what you can. It's an awesome cause.

sigh.  Sorry Amie, I made a donation on the Susan B. Komen site, but I'm not sure if it was under team EBSQ or not.  I got confused somewhere along the line.  I think I might have mistakenly started my own team

I have to agree the way the SGK website manages Passionately Pink teams this year is kind of confusing. Their idea is that you join a team, but then they want you to go out and raise more funds from your family and friends above and beyond your personal donation on the official team page. It makes sense from their standpoint since I am sure someone told them they'd get more donations this way, but I think it's overly complex and confusing from a user standpoint and might actually have the opposite effect.

I did too - afterwards I realized there was nowhere to enter EBSQ or anything signifying that this was part of the ebsq donation. I also looked at the before & after total towards our goal & it was exactly the same

I should have re-read this post before even trying, I just followed the link from the prospectus. Now it's making me wonder how many other people did the same thing?

Yes, it was very confusing. I donated twice, joined a team and have a page...and still don't know if I did it right as far as my "donation required to be voted on." Regardless, it's for a good cause. But to tell you the truth I think a lot of people went to the chip in thinking they have donated to the cause without scrolling down the page to see the correct link for actual donations. I'm just saying...something to keep in mind for next year.

Well, after reading this I hope I made my donation to the right place.  I guess it doesn't matter that much, since it is going to the foundation.  But, I wanted to support the ebsq team.  Like you Vicky, when I went and checked the balance after my donation it wasn't changed.  oh well, sorry Amie!

In looking again I think I clicked on "make a gift" instead of "Donate to this team," I didn't even notice that the first time!

"Make a gift" and "donate to this team" on this page: http://www.info-komen.org/site/TR?team_id=120823&fr_id=1130&pg=team BOTH get you credit for particpating. If you paid with an echeck, it might take a while for the funds to show up. A few of you also joined the EBSQ Team which means you might have gotten donations in your name, too. I don't think those personal-page donations count toward EBSQ's team tally, but they sure as heck help Susan G Komen!

I have to agree, the way they redesigned their Passionately Pink team pages is VERY confusing this year. Hopefully they'll take what they've learned this October and redesign for next year.

OK thanks - I guess it takes awhile for the donation to show up on the thermometer. I paid by credit card & the amount was the same before & after I contributed, but it has gone up a bit since then.
