That's right! If you were participating, you will need to post your final pieces HERE. This is the final piece that will be judged for the contest. Contest ends midnight The 30th... so don't forget to post.

Ok, I guess I'll be the first to post mine then!

Garden Bird Bath from Unloved Items:

This was a collabrative between me and Zoe. She did most of the painting with a little help from mama. I handled the glue part!

That's lovely, Shannon! Great colors, and you found the perfect spot for it among the flowers. Congrats to the budding artist, too! She did an awesome job.

It fell apart twice and we had to come at it at different angles trying to get it to stay together. Kept breaking! But I think we figured it out finally!

Well, it looks solid now!  Great garden addition.  Love the colors and the clean blue and white bowl and plate...it all works really well!

Wow! It looks absolutely amazing! What a clever idea.  May I ask how did you get it to stay all together? Monster Gorilla glue? :)

Love it.... I need one too... hmmmmm.

My project is still on my table... almost done  but have had rush orders for pillows and upholstery that needs to get out in beginning of the week.

But I'm on it............... :)

Cheers
Christine

OK.

I'm heading out on a business trip tomorrow morning, so I guess it's now or never in terms of me posting. :) Here were my original pieces:

And to this I added a few things that I got at a yard sale. A pair of deer hoof coat hangers and a pair of duck wings. and some parts to a broken fan. And I was lucky enough to find in the trash a base to something. I don't know to what. LOL... but it's HEAVY... so it supports the weight of the rest of the piece. So, here is my final piece. It is called Winged Faun and it is 16" tall.

In Roman mythology, fauns are spirits of untamed woodland. They are fun-loving, happy and often given to periods of drunken, orgiastic behavior! Fauns resemble goats below the waist and humans above. What you see here is a very rare winged faun.

Here's how I imagine him in nature:

He's a very sweet funloving guy... a rare male figure for me, but I am loving having him in my studio. I may actually keep this one if I can make enough pieces for my upcoming show not to have to bring him.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's pieces! C'mon y'all... get to postin'. :)

Lauren and I were lucky enough to see John's faun in progress.  It turned out perfectly John...perfect, just as we expected!

John that's incredible!! Your creations just blow me away. How long did it take you to realize what the piece would be? Or did you know all along?

Mine will be posted on the due date. I'm super busy right now, but it will be done! I posted a couple more WIP pics in the other thread if you care to peak.

Awesome, John!

I guess this is as good a time as any to say that I won't be entering after all. I ran out of time and am away from home. I'll be watching, though!

i actually had him out during Open Studios and listened to how people reacted to him and that helped me decide. :) I went back and forth on a few things. there was no instant decision, though, no. LOL

Yeah, he's my little boy. :) In my mind he has a fully developed playful kid who likes to fly around and play in the woods personality. :) He's gonna break hearts with the little wood nymphs out there.

You are very lucky John to have the studio people can visit. You get eyes on help and suggests from outside influences... that is a great perk!
