Hmmm, where has everyone gone?  I feel all alone here in the digital section.  Do we need another challenge?  How about use what Photoshop gives us as part of the challenge.  Take a picture, any picture and use only Photoshop Filters and layer blending modes to make a picture.  Here is my try....I used Find Edges filter, then using another original layer used gaussian blur and blended with Linear dodge.  Used 3 layers to do this.

Now just go take a picture and play with it using the filters and blending modes all found in PHotoshop.......try to be as crazy as you can.....

Ooh, that's a cool idea. :)

So, Carolyn, is it like I should try to change a picture using the same number of steps as you?  Like "change your picture in only three steps" kinda thing?

LOL, no don't mean you have to do it in as many steps as I did.  Do as many steps as you need to get an image you like.  What you have to do is only use Photoshop filters and blending modes.  Don't use filters from somewhere else....just keep it Photoshop.  And, try to use some layers and the blending modes for the layers.  But, that is not a have to, just a suggestion.

Make sense?  Or too many rules..??

Thanks for the sweet comments on my work...always makes my day!

Carolyn

Nice!  and in 3 steps!  Starting with a great photo helps.  Digital art can happen quickly, but I find if I don't have a good image to start with I am going nowhere.....so Muriel, got any more??

30 seconds, copy layer, desaturate, invert, find edges, fiddle with transparency...

Here's mine!!! I used a picture I took at a local aquarium place... then I first used the Craquelure filter, then I went into levels and boosted the hue/saturation, then went back to the filters and chose Facet. :)

Beautiful stuff guys! I am excited about participating in this activity. However, I have Paint Shop Pro- why do they all have to start with a "P" - and am not familiar with any of this.
Is Phototshop the Adobe product? If so- what is the cheapest version of it you would recc. I have Windows XP. Thanks.
In the mean time I will see if I can still work with my other program. Probably. OK.

Susan - yes Photoshop is an Abobe product and that is almost enough reason to avoid it right there - but you should be able to do neato things in PaintShop Pro! I used to have that on my machine (before the reformat) and found it to be a very useful program. :)

Susan, maybe you can find an older version on eBay, like Photoshop 7 or CS that would still do tons of stuff but be cheaper.
