Sky Blue Waters

Eleven lampwork beads, handcrafted by me, are combined with vintage colbalt glass beads that I excitedly found at an estate sale a couple of years ago.  I have been hoarding the colbalt beads for something special, so I made the beads specifically to go with the cobalt vintage glass.

A closer look at some of the fun beads.  The focal bead has several swarovski crystals dangling from it's bottom.

Thanks for having a look!

Stephanie

Tonks Donna!  I made this one for me.  I needed it to go with the 70 and some year old necklace I was recently given that was my grandmothers.

There is a cool origin to the vintage necklace that nobody could ever guess! I wish I could make a poll, because I kid you not...nobody would guess!

So, I will shoot it tomrrow and tell what I know.

Oh thank you so much everyone!  I am particularly thrilled with this necklace for I built it special to go with the necklace that was once my grandmothers.

Some of you might remember me mentioning her.   She was an artist and was tragically killed in a car accident along with my grandfather and an aunt way back in 1941.  My mother has kept this necklace in a jewelry box since then.  I only know one thing about it, and that is it was made by someone in a prison.

I think it was a splendid pairing!

I mean, it is a match made in heaven and I am thrilled!

I love combining my lampwork beads with vintage beads and jewelry and you will probably see a lot more of this from me in the near future!

Thank again for the kind words all,  I am so thrilled to have this new jewelry all to myself.

Lauren I can hardly wait!  I have a fine silver chain and a sterling clasp to lengthen  my grandmothers necklace.  She was a tiny person so it is too small on my neck and my mothers too.  I will just make it choker length or so.

That is so cool!  I love when I can wear or use things that my family wore or used in the past.  It seems like it helps keep that connection with them real or physical.  They are always in our memories, but when you have something you can see and touch it's sort of comforting.
I love those necklaces together!

Oh isn't that a lovely combination.  They work so well together!!  You will have to get pictures of you wearing them.  It is wonderful when you have jewelry that has been handed down.  It has such special meaning!
