Music is one thing I could not live without, so it'll be interesting to see your visual interpretations.
It could be anything from birds singing to rock bands to abstracts. Or whatever you think fits the theme.
Show me up to 5 pieces, any medium.
My example is Music for My Soul, a painting I created for LisaW's abstract challenge, whenever that was...

This is never easy, is it? I really, really like all of them... Well, maybe not Elvis. Living near Vegas, one gets Elvissed out...

This is really difficult, but I'm watching the Grammy Awards alone, I'm in a kind of nostalgic funky mood, Jennifer Hudson had me in tears... and I keep going back to Stephanie's John Lennon sign. Plus it's the 50th anniversary of the "day the music died" this month. Music died again in December 1980, for sure. The world still needs John Lennon's sweet voice...

OK, I'll shut up now. Congratulations, Steph!

Oh for fun!   Yesterday was also the  45th anniversery of the Beatles first Ed Sullivan show!  Muriel did you know that the reason Buddy Hollie, Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens hired a plane that fateful day?

The day the music almost died

The rickety old bus pulled out of the Duluth Armory late on Saturday, Jan. 31, 1959, and headed across St. Louis Bay into the frigid Wisconsin night.

On board were some exhausted, stinky rock 'n' rollers and their harried manager. The Winter Dance Party tour had just finished its ninth gig in as many days and was headed east for Appleton and Green Bay, for shows 10 and 11 on Sunday.

But as the temperature plunged to around 30 below and the wind howled, fate intervened. The southbound bus creaked to a stop as it struggled up an incline on Hwy. 51 about 10 miles south of Hurley.

Buddy Holly, the Big Bopper, Ritchie Valens, Waylon Jennings, Dion and the others were stranded on a remote highw ay in the northern Wisconsin forest. They huddled under blankets and burned newspapers to try to stay warm. Buddy's drummer was nursing painful frostbitten feet.
