I have always loved Letraset TRIAs myself. There was a time when you could airbrush, do broad strokes, normal width and fineline all will the same pen. Unfortunately now you have to pick between airbrush and fineline (different pens) and since I left MA I can't seem to buy them locally any more. I used to get them from Charrette in Woburn, but here in VA I have to order them from Letraset in England direct. I hate not being able to see the ink direct before I buy it. Oh and I've also used solvents on color pencil over these markers without changes. Trias can be pricey, letraset pro-markers (the airbrsh kind) are cheaper. They both last a long time. The prismacolor markers aren't bad either, but they're not QUITE as flexible as letraset. No fineline (as fine) or airbrush. They have a different base, and don't QUITE last as long as the Letraset. But they ARE easy to find. I know letraset makes a mettallic, but I've never used it. Prismacolor may too, but I'm not sure. Does this help? Any professional "designer's type" marker will stand up to artist chemicals, there's chartpak too, which I haven't used since the eighties. Look at Dick Blick or even Cheap Joe I guess. Stay away from Crayola and "kids" markers.
