This is the quilt I was yapping on about on facebook I wanted to share where I was now.

Its made from scraps (thanks Donna) and from pieces of my daughter's old baby clothes. This is going to be the Christmas present for Brian's mom this year.

Going to work on it a little now. :D

I'm a machine quilter... I feel like I'm rushing it, but at the same time... I know several people who want one. I am working on this one little by little and it all just takes so much time with all I have going on in my life. But it makes me happy, so I make time to do it.

If I can pick up a little on this one, I want to manage one for my husband's best friend who is expecting a little girl in January. I want to make her a crib size and not a teeny tiny one.

I've actually knocked out quite a bit on this one tonight after I posted this.

I love it! What a great gift!
I've got a quilt that I've titled "exhaltation" on one side and I would like to do sort of a memory quilt with images of my daughter on the other side. My grandmother used to make quilts for people made from fabric from thier baby gowns etc. like you're doing. It's such a great heirloom.

I've made it a bit further on this quilt... I have a few more pieces I have been working on to attach still, they'll go on this week.

So far, this is getting so huge it is hard to photo... all my rooms are too small!

Looking great Shannon.  How about photographing it on your bed (like they do to sell bedding)?

Ok, so I started out this quilt back in August with a lot of problems. I've had to tear some stuff off, and put something else on... buy more fabric, still ran out of some, and used as many scraps as I could. It was a HUGE fun project... which... its still NOT done!!!

Anyways, I have managed to finish the patchwork, I have finished adding the batting and the backing and now have a queen size blanket. So today I am starting to HAND quilt this queen size blanket. I am planning on doing the edges with my machine, but the center by hand. I'm using a 'hoop' to help stabilize the blanket while I work.

I attached a photo of the patchwork BEFORE I added the backing and batting here. If you want to see more detailed photos and what I'm planning next and how goto my blog: http://fromseed.blogspot.com

Wish me luck, I would have started by now on the hand threading, but I can not find my thimble?!!?
