Hi.  I want my to join nibblefest in Aug.  to get my feet wet selling on ebay.  I have a seller account, with nothing posted on it yet;  "Ebay for absolute beginners"  from the library cause I had trouble figuring where your "Board" was so I could veiw contest winners; and a picture that I don't have a high resolution scan of yet.  What exactly do I do to be parts of "trees" in August?  I don't set my own auction, or do I?  Why was there a post about one person confirming times.  I'll need a "page" or something where I've listed it right?  Whatever.  Can some one tell me EXACTLY how to post to the Nibblefest contest. Thanks

Hey Vikki

First, on eBay you will need to join the Nibblefest group. Up in the right hand top corner on the eBay page, there is a tab that says “Community”. Highlight that, and a drop down list will pop up, and at the bottom of that list is “Groups”. Click on groups, and the page it takes you to should allow you to search the groups. Type in Nibblefest into the search groups box, and you should find the group. Click on Nibblefest Art Contest group and from there you can join.

To join the contest, you simply run an auction, starting at .99 cents with no reserve, and no “special” features with NFAC somewhere in the title, set to close on the 27th of the month. For a 7-Day auction, that means starting it on the 20th of the month. So, yes, you do set your auction, you just make sure you do it at the right time, and following the “rules” which are few.

You can look through the postings in the group and get more info, as well as look at past winners. They can run a little behind on posting winners, so don’t worry that you are in the wrong place if you don’t see the most recent winners. They will be posted as the moderator has time!

Thanks so much Joe!

Vikki, if you have trouble finding the group, it's in the first post here: http://www.ebsqart.com/forum/Joining_NibbleFest/m_3618/tm.htm

Just go ahead & join now, read through the rules (in the "About Nibblefest" section) and ask any questions that might come up. We're up to date on awards (finally) and they're in their own section too.

Basically what Joe said is correct, you just list an auction following the rules & in the correct timeframe (you can list for 7, 5 or 3 days but your auction must end in the evening of the 27th/early am of the 28th), that's in the rules too (I also have a link to the world clock in there so you can look up your time zone to be sure ). There's a clickable banner we'd like you to include, as well as a blurb asking people to search all of the auctions to see the other entries. I also ask that people post the image to a particular thread on the ebay board so that we can see the entries together (not everyone does this, but it makes it easier for me if for some reason I need to go back & check an auction after they no longer show up in search). Take a look at the current auctions too & see how people do them.

The main things to keep in mind are:

1) 99¢ opening bid, no reserves
2) No extra features on your auction
3) List in the correct timeframe
4) follow the theme

Those are the main things, most people doing something wrong tend to either add options or list at the wrong time.

EBSQ offers templates, you can use that for your listing if it's easier for you (although I can't help you with that as I've never done them myself).

Feel free to ask questions here or on the ebay board, or email me directly (just don't use the "contact group leader/moderator" option on the ebay board.

This reminds me, I need to get going on polls for the next round of contests!!
