That I LOVE MY NEW JOB!

Which is digitizing the collection of the Frye Art Museum, which I talked about in another thread here. After my background check last week (which yay I passed lol), I had my first day yesterday. Worked with the curator and the head of the design department to determine the varying formats for images required and got right to work scanning 4 x 5 transparencies.

I was treated like a superstar, got to meet all the big mucky-mucks including chief curator Robin Held, who is a big deal round these part. Got super secret access codes to store rooms and administative areas, will get my own security clearance id card etc.

As I was sitting at my lovely desk with a view of the city and blossoming plum trees, I thought hot daym I am glad I bought that first Gateway computer years ago and taught myself all this junk, look at me now lol. The budget for me runs until September, and I think I will thoroughly enjoy every minute of it :) I have truly found my inner library-conservation nerd, and now I am getting paid for it...wow.

Sounds wonderful, Kelly! And well-deserved, too!
