Can you spray or varnish gouache with anything to protect it? It's been too many years since I've worked with it.
If not, then it must be placed under glass right? So then what if the painting is on canvas?

Well, I sprayed some watercolors recently (on 140 lb paper) with a few thin coats of acrylic varnish and I was really happy with the results. I treat watercolor similar to acrylic, btw. Not really a translucent wash girl.

i did a little searching and found that Krylon clear matte spray finish worked nice (the UV protect type)

i would think that whatever watercolorist's use would work....

will gouache react the same as watercolor (not get wet and bleed?) I just remember them acting kind of like kids poster paints (it was a long time ago) and that if you weren't careful, you could accidently re-wet them.

I think a krylon with UV ...meant for art. I will check in the am and bug em if I don't. Night!
