I need a GOOD guillotine paper cutter that will cut to 14 inches. There are so many out there
that I cannot make a decision. Is anyone using a guillotine that they absolutely LOVE and
could recommend to me? Of course, I would like to keep the cost down. I am just cutting
single cards and a few sheets of paper at a time.

I have a crafting cutter with a roller blade on one side and guillotine on the other.
In order to make an accurate cut, you have to measure
exactly and lay the paper on a ruler because you cannot eye the cut with the blade or the wheel.
It is troublesome to cut things that are measured with eighths or sixteenths, let alone 32nds. Besides,
I don't want to have to measure to hit my crop marks. At work, we just laid the crop
marks against the blade, pushed the top to a rigid stop-guide making it square,
and cut - no measuring what-so-ever. But that was a huge expensive cutter.

Does anyone have a suggestion for me?
Many thanks for any help.

Gayle, I have a Fiskars and I ABSOLUTELY love it.

It is this one.  I cut paper larger than 12" all the time...I also removed the blue shield for easier storage.

Closer inspection makes me wonder if I own a model that is one size up, perhaps.  Regardless, love it.

I have an 18" one of these:

that has served me well for many years. I think I bought it with art prize money in the 80s.
You do have to hold on to the the paper tightly so it doesn't shift, but you get the hang of it quickly.

Yeah, it's exactly like that. Only completely different.
I've enjoyed just about as much of this as I can stand.

Thanks Everyone for your help.
I ordered the GBC because it is most like the big one at work.
I think I will be able to cut everything by eyeing my lines and
not having to measure anything and still have accuracy.
I appreciate all your help. I looked all three up and
decided on the GBC.

I think one of the top guillotine arm trimmers is the Kutrimmer brand. They are solid metal and are pretty durable.
