Those portraits are lovely to see! I can tell you have experience in the portraiture as your proportions are right on! Both capture sensitive moments so they hold the viewer's attention. Do watch how you render your backgrounds with strong strokes that tend to undermine the sensitive moments you seem to respond to in your portraiture. Many artists tend to not want to pay as much attention to the background after they render their focal point. But often it results in the rushed look so background ends up having more contrast or movement than focal point which weakens the piece rather than show off the subject. I speak from experience I put all my energy on the people and by the time I get all the information I need to capture them, I just want to rush through the rest of the painting. But truly, though we shouldn't put as much detail on backgrounds, we still need to put as much thought and time into making the whole painting a harmonious whole even if it means we should put off finishing it until the next day lol
