where are people buying those blanks for laminating your work on various shape pendants? There is no border or metal just a "tile" of usually rectangular shape. If they are dominoes, what do they do about the dots on the back?? Anyone try this?

You leave the dots, that is part of the appeal.  I did a couple of them, until my drill bit broke. I need to get a smaller drill bit holder thing for my dremel.

You can find blank tiles too like these:

http://www.artchixstudio.com/mall/ab1073.asp
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=10073674

If you didn't want them too thick - you could pick up formica counter top sample tiles at the local lumber store.

;)

Thanks you guys. I'll go check it out. I really didn't know they left the dots exposed!
Thanks Jeanne for that suggestion (formica).
The Mah JOng tiles look cool, kind of antique, or shall I say, natural. BUt does everything have to come from China!

No need to go to China to find little pieces of wood.

You can buy the dominoes and use them, craft stores now sell the dominoes with holes drilled for beading already and what I use is table runners and placemats made from bamboo. You can get a hug tablerunner for like $10 or 20 and be stocked for life. And they can come in different woods also, I just like the bamboo. I have several in different colors and they are perfect for some the jewelry I make.
