digital artist has at their disposal several tools not available to the traditional painter. Some of these include: a virtual palette consisting of millions of colors, almost any size canvas or media, the ability to take back mistakes, erasures, pencils, spray cans, brushes, combs, and a variety of 2D and 3D effect tools. Digital painting software give artists a similar environment to a physical painter: a canvas, painting tools, mixing palettes, and a multitude of color options.
What do you think?

Compared to your work that photo is absolutely boring! Great job!

I see a lot of people nowadays take a photo into Photoshop and run a bunch of filters on it to make it look painted and then call it a digital painting - that's not a digital painting. Digital painting is when you actually draw and color it on the computer, every single brush stroke just like a regular painting. It takes 20 minutes tops to make a photo look painted, and it can take several days to make a digital painting. Just kind of bugs me, since it's very obvious to people who paint digitally what has been done, but not always to people who don't work digitally. It creates a lot of confusion and I find myself having to explain quite often that yes I actually draw every little thing, it's not a photograph that I ran filters over. :( I still get a lot of people calling it computer-generated, completely disregarding the fact that I generated it, not the computer. lol.

Lovely!  A wonderful piece of work.  What are you doing your drawing on?  I have a Wacom tablet, but am having the worst time getting used to it.

Digital art is still so misunderstood.  It can certainly be frustrating, I know it is for me.

I just got Painter X and am going to try to give it a go, but it is certainly hard to handle, and that tablet....crazy!!

I love your work.  Can we see more?

Carolyn
