Hey all,

Just wanted to share a little of my concrete work. I would like some feedback if possible.
I carved this in my driveway with a ginder and a roto-zip. The underlying rock in the concrete is colored montana river rock. I then sealed it with a clear sealer.  Thanks for the comments.

Very cool. I don't think I've seen this done before. Is it hard to do? Is this your full pattern?

Never seen that done before. Was it tough to do?

Nicely done job.  I have never seen anything like this, but certainly like it.  I like the soft finished look of the leaves against the pebbles in the driveway.  Makes a very organic contrast.

Very nice ... how did the Roto-Zip hold up? I imagine you use a cutting wheel attachment. I am in the market for either a roto-zip or a Dremel ... just can't decide which will be more sturdy.

I have used the Roto-Zip for many projects. The diamond blade does eventually burn out, but is worth the price of around $30+. I have a dremel also, but it's a lot slower to use on big projects.

I drew a template and transferred it to the wet concrete. This gave me an outline after the concrete was dry. I have done the same kind of artwork in old concrete too. After I carved the shape, I used a buffer to buff the colors of the rocks. I have to clean and brush on a sealer every couple of years if I want the rocks to shine like jewels.
This really wasn't that hard and I can't stand the typical. I used the same technique in my studio floors, and added concrete stain.    http://www.sksartell.com/studiofloora.jpg

I used my Roto-Zip to carve an old concrete patio. This saved us thousands of dollars in replacement costs.
