So, can someone care to explain how these markers work? They are clear and only work on the special paper... but the colors are always right and its not like the color is in the paper. I am so confused on these things and want to know how they work.

Can't help you,are they a crayola thing?i don't understand the 3-D sidewalk chalk,but it does not take much to befuddle me

LOL... don't get me started on the chalk! I'm a 2 year old along with my daughter most days... these new things confuse me to pieces!!!!

I think the paper is treated with a chemical which reacts with a specific chemical in each color marker, resulting in a reaction which produces the desired color--which is why the markers write clear on all other surfaces.
