Hi :) No, seriously it doesn't sound to bad. After I did some research online about making them. (which is pretty easy, just type "build cigar box guitar") I decided to use regular guitar nylon strings, instead of using some type of cord or string, which I guess is what they used to use when making these things. I was surprised to learn that these instruments had actually been around for quite a long time, and were made by extemely poor people. (necessity is the mother) So anyway, being a hobby guitar player, and artist..I couldn't resist trying this out. I'm already working on my second one, as well as juggling my other art related projects. The hardest part, was creating the frets in the neck. The tutorials I came across use regular nails, rubberbanded to the guitar neck. I wound up using wood skewers, like the kind you would use for shish kabob. I pulled out my accoustic guitar and kinda lined up where the frets would be on the new neck. Then skipped a few of the frets. lol. I've discovered the difference between a regular accoustic guitar..and a cigar box guitar, is that the CGB guitars are alot more free form, and they don't have to be perfect. Considering, if they don't sound great....they still make interesting room decor. Also I used a fence post, that I sanded down to make the neck. Was that more information than anyone was asking for? ;) -Joe
