Any other dollmakers working with plush or other fabrics out there?

I like them fleece and felt because they're inexpensive, easy to work with (won't unravel) readily available, and come in wide range of colours.

I like vintage and salvaged fabrics 'cause its fun to turn something into something else -- I think there's too much stuff in the world, so I started re-using some of it that was maybe gonna be chucked out anyways.  I guess I've spent too many years in New England ;-) You can't throw THAT out, there's some perfectly good bits left on That!

I'm working on some recycled fleece stuff for my daughter and nephew (both have bdays coming up). Maybe i'll be able to get pics of them before they're done.

I haven't done anything yet, but I've been saving some stuff up for projects with scraps and felts I keep. All in waiting for the day I finally get my sewing machine!!!

(P.S.- I love your works!)

Thank you!  That's very sweet of you to say, you're very kind.

I don't have a sewing machine - I used to, but I'm really Dumb (I mean, like Really Dumb) and I kept breaking them.  I sew everything by hand - I still break needles, but they're considerably cheaper to replace and come in packs of ten ;-)

I've done a couple of "soft sculpter" dolls, but they aren't plush becuase they are gessoed and painted.
I also did a series of "Strange Bed fellows" last year? or some time ago, they were kind of in the UGLY dolls mode. They were fun.Alos a couple of Sock monkeys, becuase who cna resist a sock monkey.

Years ago I made some psyco bunnie for friends from some vinatge material.I think My hubsters is still down staris, I should photograph that...

I just downloaded a pattern for a rag doll so that I can do some more.I like weird stuff.

Awww, thank you, that's nice of you to say.  I didn't know they had a doll forum until the other day, d'oh.

Those sound really cool - I'm gonna have to check them out!
