Anyone interested in competing in a still life challenge?  I'm thinking it would be fun to repaint a famous still life..   Want to see the interest I have in it.. I think it would be fun to have a go at redoing a famous painting done your way!!  Your style.. your flair!!.

As an extra bribe to enter I will award a prize.  **Hint at prize.... I'm going to Poland in 2 weeks shopping and will pick up the prize then!**..

Now.. who's interested in entering.. now that I've offered a bribe??!  I'll do one but just for fun too...   We'll figure out dates when to have completed by..  Nov 30th.. Then we'll set up voting the first week in December. Sound good to anyone???

Ok.. I'll be posting here some famous still life paintings.. Also feel free to post some famous still life's in this thread for examples...

I am interested Heather but I can't even think about it until November....at least.  Maybe extend it out a little more even?

For copyright. what are the rules on recreating master paintings??  Hmmm.. maybe Lauren knows??

Anyone? Its like 70 years after the artists death or something???  Off to research this?

Like an 'Ode to this still life'?  Painting not in the style of but recreating the subject?  I'm in, after I slap some paint on a canvas and call it 'equestrian.'

That works Lisa!!  I like that idea!!!!  Then there wouldn't be any copyright stuff..  so if I set up a still life of sunflowers.. it would be mine but inspired by Van Gogh's.. etc..

What do ya'll think of doing it that way.

And what date should we give it to finish it by??  Suggestions??

That's the way I understand it too. Sounds like fun. I'm in! I don't care about the date...

Donna said she'd like longer than Nov 30th..  it could just go to end of year.. wow..  that seems so far away.. but its really not??  is that too far out??  I know holidays get hectic..  It would be fun though to have a prize to someone by about xmas..    Would an odd date like Dec 7th be good?? that way with a week of voting.. I could have it to the winner by xmas??

so what's your thoughts..  end of November, mid December.. or end of December??
