I'm so tired - anyway, here are Rosie and Victoria:

Victoria is modled after a Pritten I made a little over a year ago named Princess. Margaret has always loved Princess and was sorry that she hadn't discovered me back then so finally asked me to make her one - being a bit more skilled than I was a year ago I decided this one needed the name of a Queen so Victoria it is.

Thanks!!!

Still have much to learn about furring Prittens! It's very time consuming, that much I do know!

Thanks!!! Rosie and Victoria arrived in their new home today! :)

I'm working on PEPPER - still not done and I have so many hours in already. So this is Pepper - head and tail are not attached and I still have to do the fur on head and shoulders but can't do that until I have the head on.

May change the position of the head since I can still do that. I've rough trimmed the fur as I have worked when he's all together I will probably do a bit more trimming to get the fur just right. I'm pooped!

Wow, they are just wonderful!  So you add the long fur on after, as the last step?

Thanks!!

I add the fur to the tail and the areas of the legs that will not be attached to the body before I attach them to the body - furring is difficult enough and difficult on the body once I do add the legs but to try to do the legs after they are attached would be a nightmare (I know first hand).

I spent probably 8-9+ hours yesterday just furring the body -upper portion only as I had done the tummy the day before. It takes a LOT of time.

I still haven't mastered doing this and I know there are certain build in difficulties because I am using silk for the fur. Wool would anchor more easily but wool would also want to felt more easily whereas silk is more difficult to felt and but looks more like fur. I work a small section - then I have to tug on what I have done and replace any bits that come out too completely and then trim and then onto another section.

Thanks!!

Took Pepper and Taffy with me when I visited Jack on Saturday - he hasn't seen any of the recent Prittens in person so he enjoyed that!

THANKS!!!!!

I still see things that I hope to improve but I am very pleased with my progress (and so are the Prittens!)!!!

Talked to the class coordinator at the "local" Joann's about teaching needle felting classes. I'm not sure how that will work out given that all necessary materials must be purchased from Joann's (logical but limiting - they really don't have much in the way of fibers). She told me that on average they have two students per class - which wouldn't be very good. Someone recently did a demo making up a rose brooch using Clover mold and tools and that had generated some interest. I ended up buying the mold (rather like a set of fused cookie cutters) and proceeded to make something like 7 different flowers, a bunny head and a puffed heart bead. They have an open house on May 9th - so if I go to that and show off what I have made and make something else while there maybe I can get enough students to make it worth my time. Prittens will come along but I won't be teaching how to make Prittens.

The flowers that I made using the rose mold:

These are all made with Corriedale which is not my fiber of choice but probably the fiber they sell at Joann's. Didn't try for anything fancy on these - just wanted to see what other flowers might be possible on the idea that if people see that you can make a lot more than just the rose brooch they'd be more interested in taking the class.

Still tons to do on my Pritten - legs still need to be thickened - markings need to be added etc. etc. and all of that before I add fur - just wanted to get an idea of how he was looking.

The back legs will not have those white backs of the thighs - I was filling in muscle and hadn't covered it with the color fiber.
