Here's some general guidelines on swaps: All partners need to agree beforehand if they're going to physically swap or sell their originals In the case of our Portrait Swaps, since we're dealing with portraits of each other, we typically just swap the completed works of art. All partners need to agree beforehand whether or not it's cool to offer reproductions of the finished product after the swap is complete All partners need to communicate with each other and do their best to complete their swaps on time. And some suggestions to keep all participants happy: Discuss beforehand the size, ground (canvas, paper, etc) and media in which your portraits will be done. You won't necessarily be happy if you complete a 12 x 16 oil on canvas and receive a 2.5 x 3.5 pencil on paper in return. Sizes, ground, and media are entirely up to you, but it's always good to be on the same page as your partner. Try to give your partner a few photos to work with Try to learn a little about your partner's interests, fave colours, etc. This can make for a much better portrait. Try to get your address info to your partner (and their finished portrait) in a timely fashion Have fun!
