About me: I love art! I love looking at art. I love collecting art. I love creating art. Now...the "professional" stuff: Kathy Morton-Stanion has an extensive background in graphic and fine art.  She has a degree in visual communication from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and was only one of  two students to receive a perfect score on her portfolio.  Specializing in Illustration and graphic design, she has held several positions as an art director with a client list including Playboy, Michael Jackson, Islander Sportswear among others.  She recently painted 15 paintings for Carnival Cruise Line's ship "Pride" and has been chosen to illustrate several magazine covers.

Kathy has exhibited and received many awards including many "Best of Shows" in local, national and international competitions.  Some of her other awards include "Artist of the Year from the San Pedro Art Association, "Mayor's Choice Award", and a "First Place" award from Santa Barbara National Juried Arts Invitational Exhibition which was selected from over 1,500 entries. She has been published in several magazines and had a piece selected from over 40,000 entries for inclusion in Print magazine's 1989 Design Annual.  She was then selected for inclusion in Print's hardbound book "The Best Of Silkscreen".

She is a member of the American Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society,  and is a signature member and 1997-98 President of the Nevada Watercolor Society.

Recently in 2014 she signed 3 different major publishing contracts to have have her art reproduced and promoted worldwide. You can find her art on everything to giclee prints to home decor

Kathy's work is collected and included in corporate and private collections around the world.

I feel my work is an on-going creative adventure.  I am always experimenting and exploring new ways to develop my art.  But more then just create pretty pictures, I really try to put a piece of my soul into each piece.  I want the viewer to be drawn into it and to take a creative visual journey.  Often I will hide secret messages and/or symbols intending to leave a positive thought in the viewer's subconscious.  I believe we all can always use a little more positivity in our world and if for a brief second I can accomplish that, then I have succeeded with the work of art.
