Welcome to rk-studio Fine Art. I am an artist from the Southwestern region of the United States which is where I get most of my inspiration for my artwork. I specialize in landscapes, seascapes, and still life painting. Most of my paintings are realistic in style, but I sometimes like to experiment with an abstract style. I feel that creating art is an exploration into my thoughts and feelings of what I see and imagine. I enjoy watching the history of the painting unfold through it's working and reworking. Most of the time I use brushes, but I also love the thick texture and freedom of the palette knife. Before starting a new piece, I like to visualize the subject as a finished painting and I go from there progressing through the painting while trying to keep the original vision in mind. Although I have used just about every kind of art material, My favorite medium to use for painting is oils. I also enjoy drawing portraits and figures in charcoal, graphite pencil, pen and ink, and other drawing mediums. I love making artwork because of creating something new every day. I've made made paintngs ranging in size from 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" (aceo size), to 30" x 40". I've sold my artwork to many collectors in most of the states in the U.S. and to many countries around the world.
