Patrice L Farmer aka Leasmom Fort Wayne, IN USA

Patron's Profile

My name is Patrice L. Farmer, I am a Primitive Folk Art Painter living in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I attended the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, NM in 1993/1994. I also attended Marygrove College in Detroit before transferring to East Tennessee State University where I graduated in 2002 with a B.A. in Religious Studies with a minor in Cultural Anthropology. Being a Primitive Folk Art painter means that I paint in a simplified style. My motto is: Fine Art comes from Skill but Folk Art comes from the Heart!" I find inspiration and tradition in the paintings of Grandma Moses, Geraldine Smith, John Sperry, and others. I paint landscapes, urban, ethnic, 2-D, on reclaimed wood, and paper mache as well as other mixed media. My work has appeared in several galleries in Fort Wayne, including the Fort Wayne Museum of Art and Art-Link and was featured in the newspaper in Jan. 2012 in Fort Wayne. My daughter, Lea Farmer-MacDonald is also an up and coming Folk Artist as well. Her artwork is also featured under my name with an explanation that it is her original work. I hope you'll enjoy it.
