This is one of my favorite pieces. I had been to the Louvre about 20 years ago, and I used the bulb setting to take the most unusual photographs- no flash permitted. This painting evolved from one of those photos. I like the paradox of this piece- it is a painting of a living artist painting a reproduction of a dead artist's painting.
