This is a study in EXTREME TEXTURE. I started with a thick coat of French mortier de structure. Into that I embedded branches, rocks, and shards of broken clay pots for texture. The sky is a luminous display of glowing yellow to magentas. The ground is the black, black soil of Iowa. It's fall, with a final explosion of color before the long, bleak, 6 months of grey winter.
