Media:Acrylic on canvas Dimensions:48" x 64" x 1.25" Date of Work:2001
This painting is painted on handstretched canvas. I used heavy duty stretcher bars that are 1.25" on the edge. There are no staple on the side. I used only professional grade artist paints and primer.
This painting is part of the Foodchain body of work. My main objective in this painting was to express the duality of life that I see around me everyday. In real life we see much beauty and at the same time we are aware of the misery . It is the way of the world we live in. I wanted the contrast of cheery candy colors with a distubing subject matter. Real life is full of such contrast . In this was I can catagorize this painting as "realistic". There is no substitute for this painting. I have no plan to mass produce them. It is a true original.
