Attached is another piece in my "Three Sisters" series. I arose at dawn several days ago and went outside to sketch with colored pencils and take a few digital photos. (Those familiar with my work know that light and color are the main emphasis of most of my artwork.) I sketched for over an hour, as the sun rose and kissed the tips of the branches, making them blush red. I used complimentary washes and colors to emphasis the color and depth of the scene. I wish I could say that the scene looked exactly as I painted it, most of the color is from my imagination, but I think I captured the spirit of the moment.
