Moonbaby was painted after Sunbaby, and my niece who is the dark haired brooder in the family was the model.
I don't often have to go very far to find models or something that stokes me to want to paint with the family I was given. Their insides haven't always matched their outsides, but there have always been modelesque beauties in the family. My niece, Bri, has an artist's soul that has managed to survive some seriously materialistic and warped views on money being priority over even ethics, heart, and soul. She has survived living in Research Triangle Park near Raleigh NC and Boca Raton, Florida, where she was literally surrounded on all sides by people who cared more about the color of leather in your BMW, the label on your handbag, and who did your nails than what kind of person you were on the inside. Meanwhile, I received poetry, graphics, and writings from her that told me she hasn't lost sight of her soul. And I was relieved.
By the way, Bri (or in your world, that would be BTW).... If Aunt "Butboo" ever pays a thousand dollars for a handbag, she will expect a servant to pop out when she opens it and not only hand her a kleenex, but wipe her nose for her. As long as thousand dollar handbags do nothing more than what my handbag still does for me just fine, I'd rather spend the thousand dollars bringing family into my home to celebrate good times. Or if there's nothing to celebrate, then I guess to fuss and lecture. LOL.
I love you, cabbage patch doll.
Aunt "Butboo" has spoken on the subject.
