This large painting is part of my New York Times series. I take pieces of the newspaper and attach them to the canvas. I then paint over the paper in thick layers. Sometimes I let some of the words show through, or I cover them completely and only the thickness of the paint and the edges of the paper are shown. In this one I have painted part of the New York City skyline in black silhouette against a pink sunset sky. Dozens of crows are in the sky, heading off to roost for the night.
