There is deconstruction of architecture, poetry and artwork. This piece is a waking vision made tactile (which a lot of art is). The piece is then broken down and exposed to you in some of it's simpler forms.
Visions can be ephemeral but can seem so real to the one that has them. They can be frightening, inspiring, spiritual, or bring happiness and joy.
"Earth Dreams" -"Earth"-(circle, wood, fiber, color) is predominantly represented in this wall hanging. Freeform crochet stretched like a hide. Created from the center outward from imagination and vision. There is no planning from beginning to end, I just work it as I feel it.
Facilitates/represents grounding, and a safe, happy dream state (feather, bell, weave), blessings on hearth (wood burning)and home, and transition (tassel).
In (detail image #1) the pyrography represents hunting for food (arrow), wheat, animals, and home and so on...all around the circle. Symbols in (detail image #2) tell a story of a creature crawling out of the ocean then standing upright leaving footprints.
"Little can the non-artist know, how much we put of ourselves into our art."
Chenille, wood (embroidery hoop), metal bell, found feather. Crochet, weaving, pyrography.
