Created as a sample for my students, this SLAB construction mask is made from the low fire clay and glazes that are used in my middle school classroom. We study masks from around the world, make some drawings and then learn about clay. I create a mask as I show them the basics of the clay techniques. This is their introductory assignment. I am pleased with how this little sample came out without planning and with an audience.
