This journal cover was inspired by the song Paint it Black performed by The Rolling Stones. The front cover contains a transfer of a red door and black acrylic paint. The back cover has several layers of red and black paint.
48 pages of 140-lb Fabriano Uno watercolor paper is hand bound using the Herringbone stitch between these one of a kind covers using waxed linen thread. Each signature is nestled into spacer to allow for easy addition of collage materials or other ephemera to the pages without stressing the binding too much. The binding technique allows for the book to open flat making it easier to work in than many commercial black journals.
The 4 X 6 size makes it easy to carry with everywhere for day to day journaling or for that special trip. Or give as a gift to that angsty teenager to introduce them to the joys of art journaling.
