This is my very first altered book. I call it A Journey of Sentiment. It is the story of a young girl named Marta and her beloved family. This all takes place in Victorian times and the story is pure fantasy on my part.
The outside covers are covered in brown silk with gold metalic thread in the designs of flowers. The front is decorated with real peacock feathers and faux gem stones of blue stars and an orange moon. Ribbons of brown, beige, and metalic golds also adorn the front cover. There are 19 pages, several pockets and three pull outs. Comes with 6 ACEOs, two post cards, 4 removeable tags and a pair of Victorian paper dolls. I have used many items to embellish each page. I used vintaged papers, images, buttons, jewelry, ribbons and fabrics. The spine of the book is open and the back cover has beaded fringe and bottons for decoration.
There is Papa, Mama, Clare the oldest sister, Willie the only brother, Sissy the baby sister and Marta. You will see Marta from a 2 month old baby to a lovely grown woman of 22 years old. Travel the world with Marta and her family on the Journey of Sentiment by J G Wooley.
