This pendant was created using a recycled countertop laminate sample for the base (in light purple tones). An antique pocket watch (stamped on recycled paper), a vintage photo of a woman and child (reproduction - hand tinted) and beads from recycled jewelry were also used. Pendant hangs from a black nylon cord approx. 18" long. Several coats of sealant protect the piece. The effect I am going for with these pieces is fun and funky. I refer to my work as "primitive" because my use of recycled materials often results in the finished product looking a bit rough or unrefined, which I think just adds to the interest and character of the individual piece.
