My soccer series expresses the essence or the feeling of my subject as I perceive it. What is expressed in my artworks is the sense of excitement I get as a spectator of the game and also how I imagine the players feel as they are playing. Sometimes it seems that I am painting not only the players but also their auras as they move around the field. The vivid colors that I use honestly express the kind of energy that I want to show viewers. The underlying textures convey the graininess, rough edges players demonstrate.
