Parched

This HUGE 30x30" square abstact landscape piece has a lot of texture, and a sort-of southwestern flavor or feel to it. Yep, this one is HOT, folks, but it's a "dry" heat, and that makes all the difference, right?! ;) Anyway, it reminds me of being in the middle of a scorching Arizona desert, hence the title.

Some of the colors I used are: alizarin crimson, burnt sienna, cadmium red, cadmium yellow, and all of the colors kind of blend and meld together creating a golden hue throughout. Just looking at it makes me thirsty for a nice, tall glass of lemonade! ;)

I created this look by using a lot of acrylic matte medium for glazing and translucency, which I feel lends great depth to the piece.

The sides are painted black, so there's no need for expensive framing. I have signed it on the lower right hand side, and I show several pictures from differing angles here including a closeup for detail, and above a sofa so you can get an idea of how it might look in your home.

This is a bold, striking and contemporary abstract landscape painting for anyone looking to add a modern Southwestern-style piece to their collection for their home or office decor. Bring in the desert sun all year 'round!

Thanks for looking and if you have any questions, please email me.
