'Mute Point' is an abstract I painted over top of 'Oui Naught/Self Portrait'. Then 'One Day' was painted over top of 'Mute Point'. Oui Naught and Mute Point were never intended to have been kept, just painted, as it is with other paintings I've put on canvas from time to time. This habit of mine makes a few close friends and acquaintances buggy, so in a compromise with them I do usually photograph the ones I'm painting over.
Mute Point depicts how I feel in a specific situation that we've all found ourselves in, hopefully not very often. It's that feeling you get when you're making either a very valid and factual point, or explaining your feelings on something that matters deeply to you, and the person listening isn't really listening... or even worse they're mowing over your words with argument.
I put together a graphic with Mute Point on a wall that would've suited me had it been kept.
