EBSQ Art FAQ - Member Tools - Template Tools What are the Templates for? The Templates are used to quickly generate professional looking auction pages. How do I use the Template Tool? Using your Art Case
- First, access your Art Case. Your Art Case can be found in the left-hand menu of your profile ('Art Case/Portfolio').
- You should see a new screen. This screen contains the Art Case search tool.
- Enter appropriate search criteria and click the 'Search' button (or, if the item doesn't exist in your Art Case, add it - and then find it using the search tool)
- After you find the item for which you wish to create a template, locate the 'Command' column.
- Where the Command Column and the row with your item meet should be a 'drop down' list from which you can select 'Generate Template'.
- After selecting 'Generate Template', click the 'Go' button that appears to the right of the command list.
- You will be prompted for the type of auction (auction site – eBay or bidz) – click the radio button next to your choice and click 'Next'.
- The next page will prompt for information about the listing.
- On this page, there are also areas for 'About the Artist', 'Shipping Information', etc. Optionally, the text you provide will be saved and used for the next template you create (and can subsequently be edited).
- Under the title "Main Image", You will see thumbnails (small images) for each image that will appear in the template. Optionally, you can provide a caption and/or subtext for each image.
- Click the 'View' button when you are happy with the information on the page.
- On the next page, you will see (in general) how your template would appear on ebay.
- If you are NOT happy with what you see, use the 'Back' button on your browser, make changes and repeat the process.
- If you are happy, you should copy the HTML code that will appear at the bottom of the screen and paste it in the 'Description' field of your auction.
- See the FAQ section on 'Listing Art on eBay' for more information about working with eBay.
