EBSQ Art FAQ - eBay - General eBay How do I list art on eBay? Selling on eBay is easy, but can yet be very intimidating. In general, when selling on eBay you will be asked an assortment of questions pertaining to the item you are selling.
We recommend you visit eBay's Seller Guide - of particular interest might be the sections 'Selling Basics' and 'Set Up a Seller Account'.
In addition to the resources at eBay, you should feel free to ask for help on the message boards. How do I list art on eBay using an EBSQ Template? The templates offered by EBSQ help you create the 'body' of your auction. They allow you to generate HTML code by using the art in your Art Case and their associated images and text in just a couple simple steps.
They are a huge time saver, and if you are not familiar with HTML, the templates will allow you to leverage HTML without having to know it. (And if you know some HTML, the templates allow you to further customize their look and feel.)
One common misconception is that the Templates interact directly with eBay. This is not the case.
Please visit the below 'See Also' links for more information about the templates.
How do I create an 'About Me' page on eBay? EBay provides fairly straight forward instructions on creating an About Me page. How do I create an 'About Me' page on eBay using the EBSQ 'About Me' tool? See the below 'See Also' link for more information on EBSQ's About Me Tool.
Are there additional Fees that I have to pay to EBSQ when listing art on eBay? No. No fees go to EBSQ. (Image hosting at EBSQ is free - is included as part of your membership) How can I use EBSQ's image hosting if I don't use the EBSQ template? It might require you to know a little bit of HTML. Ultimately, you will need to have the URL for images from your art case. You might also want to create 'thumbnails' from items in your art case. All of this is possible; see the below 'See Also' links for more information.
I created a Template using the EBSQ Template tool, but it doesn't show up on eBay. Why? The Template Tool creates the HTML code you will need when listing your auction - it doesn't actually list your auction for you. See the below 'See Also' links for more information.
My EBSQ counter and my 'other' counter don't match. Why? There are a couple of reasons your EBSQ counter might not match 'other' counters. First, some 'free' auction counters are occasionally unreliable. In these cases, there will be a dramatic difference in the numbers. Another reason might be that the EBSQ counter counts every time a page is visited, while other counters attempt to only count 'unique' people (ignoring subsequent visits from the same individuals). How can I use EBSQ's image hosting for the eBay 'Gallery' picture? When listing art on eBay, you will probably want to use eBay's 'Gallery' image
thing (the 25 cent thing). They ask for 'Gallery Picture URL' (Web address). In this area, we recommend you use the EBSQ 'Thumbs/Links' tool:
- First, access your Art Case. Your Art Case can be found in the left-hand menu of your profile ('Art Case/Portfolio').
- You should see a new screen. This screen contains the Art Case search tool.
- Enter appropriate search criteria and click the 'Search' button.
- After you find the item you are listing, locate the 'Command' column.
- Where the Command Column and the row with your item meet should be a 'drop down' list from which you can select 'Create Thumbs/Links'.
- You should be presented with a new page that will contain the URL for the main image. Copy this and paste into the aforementioned eBay field (Gallery Picture URL).
