Into the Blystic refers to Joseph Campbell's advice "Follow your Bliss." Making art is my bliss so I follow wherever my Muse takes me.
The best advice I've come across about creating is "To create what you want to see and experience..." I love to look at things that are ambiguous, that reveal themselves over time, that I can discover new layers of meaning or textures within; things that shift in the light and reveal another aspect, another possibility. That is what I aspire to do in my art.
My art is ever changing and evolving based upon my recent research, discoveries and inspirations. I draw upon the symbolism and mythology of many ancient and present cultures, seeking to create a universal visual language of my own. I am fascinated with mythology, archetypes, ancient civilizations, divination, and mysticism...
My work may include layers of my handmade paper, handcast paper, found objects, recycled materials, paint, inks, mica and metallic powders, polymer clay, fabric and hand decorated paper. Definitely mixed up media.
