I didn’t pick up a paint brush until after I was 40 years old. Since then, I have been enthusiastically discovering my talent for more than fifteen years. Although somewhat cathartic, my work is full of color and energy. Each painting is one-of-a-kind and is vibrantly expressive.
When I paint, I am totally focused; the world just seems to melt away. It’s the most exciting thing in the world for me to pick up a brush and become a conduit of expression representing thoughts, feelings, emotions and experiences. We each have something to contribute. How sad it would be to deprive the world of what each of us has to offer? Painting and sharing my work with others is the most authentic thing I’ve ever done.
I currently reside in and am immersed in the art scene in Norcross, GA. I love showing and selling my work and am fortunate that it is displayed both publicly and privately in collections from New York to London.
Enjoy! Elsie Porter
