This piece is a departure from some of my thrown work. I hand built the body of the vase from a slab then added a thrown neck to the piece. I embedded ginkgo leaves into the clay and where their depression was left I brushed slip onto the piece then wiped away the excess. I fired the greenware, then added the celedon glaze for a final firing.
