I've been trying to find a category or genre to attach to my paintings, and I'm having a hard time. I've heard terms like "Cartoon Surrealism" and "Low Brow" and "Pop Mystical." Who knows if any of those terms fits...

Most of my paintings are oil on stretched canvas, occasionally a wood panel sneaks in there.

Whenever there's a frame, I've made it myself, borrowing techniques from my funky assemblage sculptures.

I make my assemblages from sculpted polyform clay, metal, wood, string, plastic, cardboard, bits of found objects, pieces of old toys, you name it.

These 3-dimensional doodles are an exploration of ideas involving the collision of technology, culture, and aesthetics in our lives. I know, I know, sounds deep --but also I think they look groooovy
