This is a first piece of this style that may come a series. The composition is derived from a photo but the content is adapted in that the modern glass tower is totally fictional as well as all of the lighting. The other parts of the scene are adapted from various memories of New York, San Francisco, Portland, and other old downtown areas that are being encroached upon by decay and modern sterility. This painting was juried into the Pastel Society of the Southwest 2006 Member Show.
