A Painting from my landscape series of southern Colorado and the San Luis Valley. In the foothills of the San Juan mountains... summer time and anything goes. The thunderstorms that come in from the west are intense and it's "Katy Bar the Door" till she blows over! This painting was started at the beginning of one of those very moments summer 2004 while I was there for family business. The storm was just cresting the range on our way up to Storm King and getting ready to come down into the valley. 10x10" canvas. The San Juan Mountains are on the western side of Colorado's San Luis Valley... This is just one of the beautiful places my Mother's family calls home.
